She's currently appearing on television, she's just completed an exhausting and successful tour of the booming northern club circuit, and she's hoping to hear any day now of a part in a big new musical.
One of the sophisticated stars who leads a fabulous, almost dream-like, life of luxury? Not at all - this is Deano. Completely unspoilt, she is far more excited about the expected arrival of a new sister or brother next month than all the glamour of the show business world which has taken her to its heart.
This is Cardiff's own kid who has already shown she has the makings of a big-time star. With a surprisingly mature voice, a bubbnling personality and a lot of joy in life, this 16-year-old girl has topped the bill in clubs and theatres over well-established stars, and has shown that she is worthy of the honour.
At home she is very much the family girl. Daughter of Mr Lionel Wilson and his attractive wife Gemma. She has two older brothers, and a big family fan club of uncles, aunts and cousins, as well as the growing group of people who never meet her, but are won over by her exuberance and obvious talent.
Deano at home is like everybody's idea of the nice girl next door. Home loving and delighted with her one and only luxury acquisition - a pony bought for her last birthday. She shows a very genuine affection and appreciation of her parents.
Mrs Wilson has made all Deano's stage clothes to date, including some original trouser suits, full-length dresses, and the casual teenage clothes Deano loves to wear, her favourite gear is still her riding outfit, or jeans and shirt or jumper.
Although she is completely unspoilt by the sort of life which would turn most heads, she does take her career seriously. "I hope that if things go well I could start getting parts in musical shows. I just enjoy singing and it's fun to do a bit of acting."
Watching her excellent performance in the current television series with Ivor Emmanuel, it is difficult to believe that there is the slightest possibility of Deano ever failing to be a great singer.
She manages to dismiss praise quickly by immediately saying that she is helped by the people she works with. "Ivor Emmanuel and Clive Dunn have been wonderful to me, it's fun to be with them. I'm having a wonderful time."
But it says a lot for Deano's ability that she was originally only booked for one show and proved so popular that the rest of the cast decided she was indispensable.
It was her first appearance on the television for some time, but Deano has certainly not been idle. She has been appearing in cabaret and clubs all over the country and can reel of show business names as people she has met, and become friendly with, until your head reels.
How true are all those stories about the big bad world of back stage intrigue, bitchiness and jealousy?
"Maybe some of it is true but we have never found it. There has never been any unpleasantness and everyone has been exceptionally kind and helpful. Many well-known people have gone out of their way to be friendly to Deano," said Mrs Wilson, who has so far been Deano's chaperone on all her tours, including one to Germany.
"I want her to come with me every time, even when I get older, she's wonderful and she calms me down," said Deano. All this mutual admiration and praise could seem insincere and sugary - but it doesn't.
This close-knit, happy family is still a little bit surprised by the success Deano has had. They are nice people who are determined to remain themselves.
No signs of wild extravagances and no affectation or desire to impress. Just a family with a daughter whose own tuneful voice, and natural acting ability, is carrying her to the top of a much-maligned but hard-working profession - and Deano has a long way to go yet.
